Oakland's $2M Surveillance Contract Must Be Stopped
The window to protect our community's privacy is closing. Learn the facts and take action today.
What's Happening?
Oakland City Council approved a $2 million contract with Flock Safety, a surveillance company that will blanket our city with:
- 290 license plate readers tracking 1.4 million vehicles per month
- 40 pan-tilt-zoom cameras monitoring our neighborhoods 24/7
- Data sharing with ICE and 50+ law enforcement agencies
- A history of major security breaches exposing sensitive data
This is mass surveillance that violates Oakland's sanctuary city policies, puts immigrants at risk, and turns our entire city into a watched zone.
But it's not too late. We can still demand Oakland terminate this contract and protect our community's privacy rights.
